People and Culture Manager - UK

About the role:
Thunderful Games is seeking a People and Culture Manager to join its growing European People and Culture team.
The UK People & Culture Manager is responsible for approximately 180 employees/contractors working for Thunderful Games UK and our UK subsidiaries Coatsink Software, Jumpship Games, and Robot Teddy. You will work closely with business leaders in each of these subsidiaries to advise on existing business structures and devise and implement a fit-for-purpose strategic and organizational People strategy that supports business objectives and aligns with the Thunderful vision.
As the People and Culture Manager, you will develop and improve people-related policies and ways to embed and demonstrate company values. You will support and coach managers on people-related issues and processes, develop reward and benefit structures and manage HR metrics and KPIs.

This position is available remotely for anyone based in the UK though traveling to our studios in Gateshead and Guildford will be required regularly.
Responsibilities Include:
- Identifying skills gaps and developing and implementing workable training plans and training courses
- Developing straightforward and effective performance management systems
- Leading and implementing the well-being agenda and information for colleagues
- Supporting the Thunderful DEI Committee and providing specific HR-related guidance/expertise
- Supporting the Health and Safety function
- Keeping Employee Handbooks and other employee documentation compliant and up-to-date
- Supporting long-term sickness and absence and any frequent short-term absences
- Supporting European HR colleagues as required
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a people-centric approach to HR and a servant leader approach, aligned with Thunderful/subsidiary values, the ability to integrate into a friendly, kind, and inclusive team, a can-do and informal approach, and a positive attitude.

- CIPD qualified or equivalent (such as Master) or equivalent knowledge gained in experience
- Current UK employment legislation and HR trends, as well as future developments
- Solid HR experience at an operational level, preferably from the creative/cultural or tech sector
- Managing a broad HR remit with a disparate management team and workforce
- Ability to travel occasionally to UK and European studios
