"The best falafels in Sweden"

About us
Thunderful Malmö stands out from its siblings where it matters. It’s the smallest and homiest studio in the family! With roots in the SteamWorld series, the studio breathes a lovely “indie feel” and aims to keep the good parts while expanding. The team hopes to find people with different backgrounds and perspectives to build even better and more imaginative games.
They’re also decent Brännboll-players, and they go climbing together every Friday. -
Location
The Malmö office is located right in the heart of Malmö, inside “DevHub” - a coworking and office building. Outside said building, you’ll find more pubs and restaurants per capita than anywhere else in Sweden, as well as Sweden’s finest Falafel! So finding a good lunch is easy as pie! The office is also located 220 meters from the Disgusting Food Museum, in case you’re craving something unusual for lunch. Due to the office very central location, they frequently visit the local coffee shops and devour the sweet pastries they so well deserve.

Fun Fact
The Malmö office came to be during 2020 when a Steamworld veteran was sent back home to Skåne (the magnificent South of Sweden) with the task of opening a new studio. In just two years, the studio grew in both people and coziness, and turned out to become the coziest of all of the Thunderful offices, says an unbiased source. Today, they're 17 talented people working together on fabulous projects, and supporting other projects across Thunderful.

Working at the Thunderful Malmö office has truly been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made; I believe we have built something truly special here together. The team consists of the loveliest people, but apart from being nice they are also really talented and driven! From day One we’ve talked a lot about how having fun at work and having a healthy work/life balance creates great games, and the Malmö office is a testament to that. Going to work in the morning has never been so easy!

The Malmö office and team are a delight to work with and have helped me transition into game development with ease and acceptance. Their industry know-how coupled with being really nice people, honors a space of inclusivity, understanding and support which ultimately helps everyone grow, be happy and wake up wanting to go to work.
